Dear Family and Friends,
When Krishtine was pregnant and we found out our baby would have Down syndrome, we had many questions. Krishtine started looking online, and fortunately, she found the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County. We attended a virtual networking session that connected us to other parents of young children with Down syndrome, and received a care package of books about parenting a baby with Down syndrome and a board book featuring pictures of children with Down syndrome. We also attended a virtual DSNMC workshop to learn about Maryland ABLE accounts for people with special needs and opened one for Desmond so we can save for his future.
These friendships and resources have been so valuable, and as Desmond gets older, he'll be able to attend social events, self advocacy workshops, public speaking workshops, and more, all courtesy of DSNMC!

We're hoping to raise $2,500 $5,321 for this important cause that's near to our hearts. We also invite you to join us at the Step UP Walk on Saturday, October 15 from 11:45am-2pm at Hadley Park in Potomac, MD. Step UP is DSNMC's largest fundraising and awareness event of the year, attracting over 700 participants and raising 70% of the annual revenue needed to fulfill its mission. The event is filled with entertainment, music, dancing, activities, food, drinks and fun for everyone to enjoy. We'd love for you to join us!
